There are many lovely Jervis Bay beaches to explore, picnic facilities, walks, etc in Booderee National Park and Jervis Bay National Park. Three popular beaches are Huskisson Beach, Murrays Beach and Green Patch. You will really enjoy visiting here. Maps are available from the Visitor’s Centre at the entry to the Park.

Bay and Basin Leisure Centre
Family friendly. Café there as well so you can swim then enjoy a cuppa or watch the children swim or use water slides and other water play equipment while you have a cuppa. There are several different pools of varying depths including a very shallow pool for mums and babies/toddlers to enjoy. They also have a gym. Good place to visit if it’s raining and you can’t go to the beach.

Family Friendly Beaches
Hyams Beach & Moona Moona Creek near Huskisson Beach
- Hyams Beach - advertised as the whitest sand in the world – well worth a visit, about 10-12 minutes’ drive away.There’s a nice café there as well (unfortunately it doesn’t have an ocean view! but everything else is good).
- Moona Moona Creek is a lovely safe place for water play for all ages. It is tidal and looks more like a small river. There are sheltered areas, BBQs, toilet and shower facilities. Families canoe, kayak, use floating devices, build sand castles, older ones do stand-up paddle, fly kites, etc.
Other Leisure Activities
Putt Putt Golf – the mini golf course is located at the Huskisson Bowling Club – Club Husky, near the entry to Huskisson. From time to time it will be advertised on TV. Open every day except Christmas Day. One of the finest mini golf courses on the South Coast.
Ten Pin Bowling
Teens and family fun if the weather is wet. Does involve driving in to Nowra.

Shoalhaven Zoo, formerly the Nowra Animal Park, is an animal park on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

Families with primary age children and overseas guests would enjoy this zoo as there are many Australian animals to enjoy. You can have your photo taken with the koalas. Some interaction with the animals eg feeding the kangaroos. And when you have ‘walked your feet off’, you can stop in at the Nowra Zoo’s café and gift shop.
